File Scrub, cyber security software

Overview

File Scrub is freely distributed to U.S. government agencies and U.S. government contractors. File Scrub and the File Scrub Decryption Tool were developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory with DOE/NNSA support.

Download Process

File Scrub, File Scrub Trusted Copy, and the accompanying files are distributed in an encrypted file package. On this page you can download the encrypted file and the File Scrub Decryption Tool.

To decrypt and use the software, you must first submit the Conditions of Use form.

After you are approved to download File Scrub, you will receive by email the FileScrubKey.ser file, also used in the decryption process.

System Requirements

Each platform File Scrub supports has its own encrypted File Scrub package and Decryption Tool.

Download Instructions and Browser Required

Browsers supported: Microsoft Internet Explorer(IE), Netscape, Mozilla, Safari, Firefox.

Step 1. Download the Installation Instructions.

Step 2. Download the FileScrubDecryptionTool Setup File.

Non–IE browser users must right-click on the link (Mac users, Control + click) and select the "Save Link Target As ..." menu item.

Step 3. Download the File Scrub and File Scrub Trusted Copy Encrypted Setup File.
